Edina Park & Recreation to host Winter Neighborhood Night Out

Edina, Minn., Jan. 22, 2011 –On Friday, Jan. 28, the City’s Park & Recreation Department will host the fourth-annual Winter Neighborhood Night Out at Normandale, Pamela and Weber parks from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Pull on your warmest coat and gloves, and come out for an evening of winter fun!

“The event was started as a way to entice neighbors to connect and get active in the winter,” said Kristin Aarsvold, Recreation Supervisor. “The Edina Community Foundation has been a sponsor since the beginning, and we are pleased that our neighborhood partners like Morningside Neighborhood Association and the Edina Lions have added to the event over the years.”

As tradition follows, Edina’s popular Night Out will provide a selection of complimentary foods, beverages and activities. Caribou Coffee will offer free decaffeinated coffee and cider in warming houses for guests. Potbelly Sandwich Shop will supply mini-cookies at all three park sites. The Edina Lions Club will prepare popcorn and provide a selection of classic s’more fixings and hot chocolate at Pamela Park.

The Edina Community Foundation will sponsor kick sleds at Nomandale Park, and snowshoe demonstrations by Hoigaard’s will take place at Pamela and Weber parks. Guests can also visit Weber Park to enjoy caricature drawings.
