Spring burning ban lifted
Edina, Minn., May 5, 2010 – On Wednesday, May 5, Edina’s spring open burning
restrictions were lifted. Recreational fires are once again allowed in the City
with a permit and after calling the Recreational Fire Hotline at 952-826-0398 to
ensure that burning is permitted.
Recreational fire permits can be obtained free-of-charge from Edina City Hall,
4801 W. 50th St., or online at
www.CityofEdina.com/Fire.
In addition to acquiring a permit, residents wishing to enjoy a recreational
fire must follow a set of rules that include keeping their fire on private
property; contained within a fire ring, pit or manufactured wood-burning
appliance and at least 25 feet away from all structures and 10 feet from
property lines.
Residents are also asked to notify their neighbors whenever possible before
starting a recreational fire. If smoke is blowing into your neighbor's home, the
Fire Department will ask you to put it out.
For more information on recreational fire regulations, contact the Fire
Prevention Bureau at 952-826-0378 or visit www.CityofEdina.com/Fire.
