The Art of Centering in Turbulent Times
Saturday, April 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. $65 nm/$59m +$5 materials fee
Through earthquakes, pain and a culture of violence, we need to find the
resiliency within ourselves to heal and find balance in our lives. Art gives us
the tools for self-expression, healing, transitioning, coping with loss and
moving on. Together we will use labyrinths, focusing tools, mandala work and
bridges to clear a way back to self; balancing heart and soul and defining
health and wellness as a path towards finding center. Bring your lunch.
Journey into the Imagination; Movement and Art as Self-care
Sunday, April 18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
$65 nm/$59m +$5 materials fee
Take time for art and self-care; nurture your imagination in this workshop.
Witness the creative process unfolding as you find inspiration through specific
tools for accessing more of the authentic self. Your art may journey into new
parts of self … awaiting expression. Bring your lunch.
Rain Barrel Art
The Edina Art Center and the Minnehaha Watershed District will present "Rain
Barrel Art" Saturday, Aug. 28. The purpose of this event is to demonstrate how
rain barrels not only are useful but can look great, too!
Rain barrels collect and store rain water that falls onto the roof of your home.
During dry spells, you can
use the stored water to water your lawn and garden even if a watering ban is in
place. Rain barrels are
a free alternative to using treated tap water. The art event will include an
information session on rain
barrels followed with a painting. All barrels will be primed prior to the event.
Barrels will be available at
a discounted price ($50) and painting supplies will be provided free of charge
by the Nine Mile Creek
Watershed District.
