AMY VONBARGEN

Amy, who lives and works in Minneapolis, has been hooked on pottery since taking her first beginning pottery class over ten years. Her pots are built by hand with slabs of stoneware clay. The pieces are carefully constructed, formed into soft shapes and the surfaces deliberately marked to enhance the pot’s construction and shape. The glazes that Amy use, create a soft surface so that the piece feels satisfying in the hand. Amy’s work can be seen in galleries, art shows and exhibits throughout the area.

“I intend for my pots to be used in the everyday traditions of life”.

Amy teaches pottery on, and off, the wheel at Edina Art Center.
