New Movie Transfer Equipment
Transfer those movies today before they are lost to age. 8mm, Super 8mm,
l6mm film transferred to DVD. We’ll get you started! It’s easier
than you think!
Our new technology Tobin TVT-8 Video Transfer equipment is available for
use by the public in Regular 8mm and Super 8mm versions. These
remarkable devices are easier to use and produce sharper, steadier
pictures. Threading of film is automatic through the film gate. Exposure
correction and focusing are also automatic. No intermediate mirrors or
lenses are necessary; images go direct from film to video sensor for
finest integrity and resolution.
For those who have Super8mm with sound or 16mm movies, we continue to
offer the "black box" transfer station used by hundreds of people for
many years. This station uses external mirrors and lenses to position an
image for pickup by an external video camera. It also offers a very
sharp transfer with minimal flickering although some attention must be
paid to focusing and color adjustment.
How many 8mm films can be transferred in one hour? 10
to12 three-inch reels of film (50 ft. per reel) using our Tobin
projectors or 4 five-inch reels of film (200 ft. per reel) or 2
seven inch reels of film (400 ft. per reel).
How do you tell what type of movie film you have? It is
important that we know what type of films you have because we
must book an appointment for the appropriate transfer station.
Look at your 3 inch reels. If the center hub hole is
approximately the diameter of a common lead pencil, you have
regular 8mm film. If the hub hole is more the size of a marker
pen, such as a Sharpie, you have Super 8mm films. If all of your
films have been spliced onto larger 5 inch or 7 inch reels, call
us for more tips.
Other important information: Your film must be in decent
condition without excess dust or other contamination such as
mildew. If your film is not in good condition, we can provide
advice concerning other resources for film cleaning and repair.

Scan Slides and Photos to CD or DVD Use our Epson V700 scanner to capture and digitize your 35mm
slides or photos. You can set scan resolution to suit your
purposes from 300 dots per inch (dpi) to 1200 dpi. Scan 12
slides at a time and watch as they are saved as individual
images. Once your entire batch of slides (up to 999) is saved,
you can then burn them to a CD.
Make a Video Album from Photos and Slides Digitized images can then be examined and enhanced using our
Photoshop Elements software or assembled into a video slideshow
that can include titles, captions, transition effects and
background music and narration. These are processes you can
learn to do using our consumer level software programs.
