The Margaret Foss Gallery hosts rotating exhibitions and programs of local and internationally known artists. Openings and public receptions are held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on opening days, unless otherwise noted. Upcoming events include:

Faculty Show     
Jan. 12 – Feb. 22, 2012

The Edina Art Center’s annual faculty show features artwork of current and future instructors. All media such as pottery, drawing and painting, jewelry and photography will be on display in the Foss Gallery. The opening reception is Thursday, Jan. 12. The Twin Cities’ community and students are invited to view work, interact, ask questions and possibly find an instructor to inspire a budding or working artist to pursue and their artistic goals.

Teen Show
March 1 – March 28, 2012

The Teen Show is new as of 2011. Inspired by our Student Board Members and Art Center Staff, the 2011 Teen-I show featured self-portraits by Edina High School students. The 2012 show expands to include work of high school students throughout the metro area with an open theme. Join us on Thursday, March 1, 2012 to view art influenced by social media and the world we live in today.

Student Show
April 5 – May 9, 2012

The Student Show at the Edina Art Center is a popular and exciting event for students of all ages. Students are allowed to show one piece of work completed within the past year at the Art Center. Work ranges from beginner to highly skilled. The show is non-juried which allows individuals to gain confidence to enter shows and begin their exhibition resume. The opening reception is Thursday, April 5, 2012.

Garden Sale
May 17 – June 20, 2012

Artists exhibit work of all types of media to enhance your garden and home at the Edina Art Center. This colorful sale features pottery, sculpture, watercolors and paintings, bird and fairy houses, antiques, outdoor furniture, mosaics, books and fish sculpture fountains. The opening reception is Thursday, May 17, 2012.

Ming Chiao
June 28 – Aug. 1, 2012

Minnesota Ming Chiao holds its annual event with the opening reception Thursday June 28, 2012 at the Edina Art Center. Minnesota Ming Chiao, or Minnesota Bridge as it is called, signifies a link between east and west.  Featured work of members of the Society includes Sumi-E, or East Asian brush painting and calligraphy in contemporary styles from realistic to abstract.

Minnesota Artist’s Association (MAA) 75th Anniversary
Aug. 9 – Sept. 12, 2012

The Edina Art Center is proud to hold the 75th Anniversary Show of the Minnesota Artists Association. The MAA has been serving the arts community since 1937, and offered support for artists during times of hardship since the great Depression. On view are works in all media by artists with a long history of dedication and commitment to support of artists and their art. The opening reception is Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012.

28th-Annual Members’ Juried Exhibition
Sept. 27 – Oct. 31, 2012

The 28th-Annual Members’ Exhibition is the Edina Art Center’s largest show. Members enter pieces to our juried competition. Two judges from the Twin Cities’ art community select work they feel shows exceptional talent and skill. Pieces selected by the judges are displayed in the Foss Gallery. The opening reception is Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.

Gifts! Gifts! Gifts!
Nov. 8 – Dec. 23, 2012

The Edina Art Center displays one-of-a-kind, hand-made gifts for your loved ones during the holidays. The gallery is filled with pieces that are unique and all are hand-crafted. The variety of work changes during the six weeks of the show from Nov. 8 through Dec. 23, 2012. Nothing feels better than giving the gift of Art.
