Art Glass Window
The Artist: Michael Pilla is a self-taught glass artist with more than 30 years of experience. He makes new windows and works as a consultant for the historic preservation of old stained glass. Pilla’s work is contemporary and abstract. When possible, he uses copper foil in place of lead. Pilla’s signature is small copper plates or clips over the joints, which reinforce the weakest parts and add detail. Funding: Michael Pilla’s art glass window was funded by the City of Edina and a grant from the Edina Community Foundation. Major donors include the William D. Radichel Foundation, Excel Energy and Linda and James Masica. |
