The Edina Police Department was recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense as a “Patriotic Employer.” The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presented Chief Jeff Long with the award for the Department’s support of two Edina Police Officers who also serve in the military. Officers Kevin Rofidal and Brandon Kuske are members of the Coast Guard Reserve. The award was presented at a City Council meeting in March.

Edina Park & Recreation Director John Keprios was inducted into the Minnesota United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Hall of Fame in January. Mayor Jim Hovland represented the award at a Council meeting later that winter.
