Pine Cone

The Artwork: The 10-foot tall stainless steel sculpture of an open, seed-releasing pinecone sits in the middle of the maze in the northeast part of Centennial Lakes Park.

The Artist: Twin Cities sculptor Marcia McEachron designed the towering structure to represent prosperity and potential for growth and inspiration.

 Funding: The project was completely funded by a gift to the Edina Community Foundation by Edina residents John and Jean Hedberg, whose family’s sand and gravel business once occupied the Centennial Lakes area.
