Art Center Board

Rule

The Edina Art Center Board is, by City Ordinance, a formalized independent advisory board of the Edina City Council. Comprised of eleven volunteer members (including one student), Board members are appointed for limited three-year terms by the Mayor with approval from the Edina City Council.

Along with the Edina Art Center staff, this working Board guides and supports general development of the Edina Art Center, providing recommendations to the City Council concerning facilities, activities and programs. Each year the Board coordinates and hosts the Art Center’s premiere event, The Annual Members’ Juried Art Exhibition. This month-long show attracts artists from Edina and beyond to submit their best original art in any two or three-dimensional media for exhibition, juried competition and sale.

Current members of the Board are: Hafed Bouassida, Dana Lappin, Barbara La Valleur, Bill McCabe, student Tara Mohtadi, student Justin Moran, Colin Nelson, Kitty O'Dea, Thomas Raeuchle, John Swon and Ruth Valgemae.

The Board meets year-round at 4:30 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month at the Art Center. Note that the December meeting of the Board will be held 4:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at Edina City Hall.
