Edina Park & Recreation to host third-annual Winter Neighborhood Night
Out
Edina, Minn., Jan. 5, 2010 – The third-annual Winter Neighborhood Night Out
will be held on Friday, Jan. 22, in three different parks in Edina.
Normandale, Pamela and Weber Parks will host the free event facilitated by
the City’s Park & Recreation Department.
From 7 to 8:30 p.m.,
families and neighbors can enjoy ice skating, special activities, campfires
and spending time with family and neighbors.
Free decaffeinated
coffee compliments of Caribou Coffee will be available in the warming
houses. Snowshoe demonstrations by Hoigaard’s will take place at Pamela and
Normandale parks. At Weber Park, the Edina Community Foundation will sponsor
quinzee building by Three Rivers Park District staff and the Morningside
Neighborhood Association will provide smore fixings there. Dow Water and
Process Solutions of Edina will give away hot apple cider for kids at all
three parks and the Edina Lions will pop popcorn at Pamela Park.
“The
goal is to get neighbors and families out to enjoy winter together. We
welcome neighborhood involvement to make the event fun for all,” said
Kristin Aarsvold, Recreation Supervisor.
